Scripture Response

The Holy Bible is unlike any other book. In short, because it’s more than just a book, it is the inspired words of God which do more than just sitting on a page. I have read a piece of text and then years later read the same piece of text again and I learn something new. Let us reflect on His word together.

Scripture~ Leviticus 17-18, Psalm 54, Luke 18      I am so moved by the passages in the Old Testament . . . obviously these are scriptures that cause much division today in our society . . . some say that God was only saying this to protect His children as they were in the wilderness. Telling […]

Scripture~ Leviticus 15-16, Psalm 53, Luke 17      It is odd a bit for me that in the past several readings it is the Psalm that seems to speak directly to where I am currently. I am focused on my house and my work, not work as in where I earn my pay but work in […]

Scripture~ Leviticus 14, Psalm 52, Luke 16      I wonder at times . . . in the Old Testament passage, when the Lord is speaking of a house that has spots . . . if He’s not referring to the flesh of the temple. I am not familiar enough with Leprosy to know whether or not […]

Scripture~ Leviticus 7, Psalm 48, Luke 12      The passage in Leviticus . . . speaks to me in regards to how with our sacrifice we support the priests. In todays meaning in my tithe and offering I support my pastor and church; and without this, I am holding back which is duly theirs given to […]

Scripture~ Leviticus 2-4, Psalm 46, Luke 10      I have found it even more difficult to do my devotion in the morning after the family is awake; phone ringing, daughter calling, tv blaring . . . there’s got to be a time to do this and do it where I can be focused and devoted on […]

Scripture~ Leviticus 1, Psalm 45, Luke 9 There is something to be said about ‘when’ you do your devotion. I’m thinking I should and will switch to the mornings . . . as often I read something I needed earlier that day. Or, like tonight, I’m too tired to put much thought into it. L […]

Scripture ~ Exodus 29-30, Psalm 39, Luke 3      Yesterday, and today, the Psalm seems to speak dearly to me. I am thinking most on how our perspectives of time are so diverse. I went in sick to work today; the 5 hours I was there felt like ten. Yet, we are, in “time” of eternity […]

Scripture~ Exodus 28, Psalm 38, Luke 2      The Exodus passage . . . man does God know how to dress or does God know how to dress! But more to a serious point; I’m thinking the stones on the breast plate are the foundation of the walls of heaven found later in Revelation. I find […]

Scripture~ Exodus 13-14, Psalm 32, Mark 11      There is comfort that comes in the Old Testament passage from today’s reading, “I am the Lord”. Knowing that the God we serve was the same God that defeated the Egyptians, the mightiest power in the middle-east . . . God swallowed them up in the Red Sea. […]

Scripture~ Exodus 12, Psalm 31, Mark 10      At this point I have only read Exodus 12; I am struck by something. The Passover Feast is a way of remembering what God did for the people of Israel in the land of Egypt. I have been . . . bugged is not the word but something […]
