Scripture~
Leviticus 7, Psalm 48, Luke 12

The passage in Leviticus . . . speaks to me in regards to how with our sacrifice we support the priests. In todays meaning in my tithe and offering I support my pastor and church; and without this, I am holding back which is duly theirs given to them by God. Mind you God’s will is going to be carried out, the choice is to be a part of it or not. Not to mention that we are commanded to give a tenth, just a tenth, of what we earn back to the Lord . . . now I think this applies not only to money but to our talents and time as well. Do I do this?
When I consider the vastnes of God’s plan I am amazed that I am apart of it. To think that one day I will sit with the former kings of Israel, and that glorious moment when I am face to face with the King of Kings . . . consider the lineage of holy Kings; and the final King, Christ the Lord who reigns still to this day. A King who through His sacrifice has adopted me into His kingdom . . . granted me access to His holy city . . . how I long for this day to come.
The sermon on the mount is my favorite passage in the scripture. Sure it’s long, but in 3 chapters we are given a guide to our life; today’s passage in Luke is from that sermon. There’s peace, warning, instruction in the authority of Christ. Because of this I am reminded to not worry about my day-to-day needs as they will be provided. I cannot think of a time that I have ever gone hungry, nor a time that I had nothing to drink. I constantly seek after peace but in most cases I am divided with others . . . I used to think this was a bad thing and that something was wrong with me; but this is what Christ states would happen. By this passage we are called to be ever watchful of ourselves, to evaluate and make certain that we are at our Masters work. Am I? If Christ were to come today, would I be found at task or would I be found as a sloth as the wicked?

Dear Heavenly Father, your Word speaks to me today of the importance to be about Your work. To be found at work when the Master comes. Heavenly Father, show me how I fall short of Your calling, bring it to my sight that I may correct this to be more pleasing to You. Thank you Lord for your provision.
