Well if it isn't obvious enough Jack is in reference to Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey.  While this is written perhaps as someone trying to escape something by running to the bottle I myself have never been an alcoholic or dealt with the issues it brings.  I did, unfortunately, go through a time where I tried to drink my problems away and when I commented at work about it not working a friend of mine replied, "You're just not drinking enough".  Thankfully I came to my senses before continuing down that path for too long.  This would have been written when I was trying to get away from pain, though couldn't tell you exactly what it was.
