Scripture~
Deuteronomy 29-30, Psalm 94, Acts 18

Decisions and choices we make have long lasting impact on who we are and how we live. Towards the end of the Old Testament passage we are offered a choice, one of Life and Death. I do think it’s interesting how still to this day, you can look at someone’s life and those who are really really living are typically devote followers of the faith. I’m talking about the one’s who are living for things that really matter, they “get” it so to speak. Versus 18 – 21 of the 29th chapter also seem to suggest what is happening in our own land today. As a country we are beginning to be swept away; we’re not who we were 25 years ago; so much has changed . . . and so much more changed in the 90’s; we seem to hold more importance for Neo-Pagenism; abominations of God; and high esteem for man’s clarity of thought . . . are we not fulfilling “blesses himself in his heart, saying, ‘I shall be safe, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart.’”?
How true is Psalm 94:4-7 today? The wicked pour out their arrogant words . . . one only has to turn on tv or for that matter go to your local public school to hear this taught. Evolution . . . a theory that has been disproven time and time again yet it is still being taught as fact. How many shows are there on tv about Fashion or looking good or the best house? Those who need the most help, the widows are pushed aside and dropped on the latest state run ‘welfare’ system . . . and the fatherless . . . how many children are born out of wedlock . . . how many are murdered? And when September 11th 2001 came everyone wanted to know where God was? Now we are back to our old selves and perhaps a little worse off. Now we shout that “God is what you make him\her” or “there’s more than one path” and Humanism is the ultimate form of godhood. The righteous are something to be made fun of and marginalized.
But this is how it is done, reading in Acts one of Paul’s many missionary journey’s . . . going out of his comfort zone and meeting new people, always speaking of the Father and His Son. This is what we must do to turn our would around. To get out of our zone and speak boldly of God.
