For anyone who has known me for any length of time probably knows I’m a Stargate SG-1 fan. Don S Davies played Gen Hammond, the base commander for Stargate Command. He passed away on the 29th; the announcement just came out recently.
While I never had the chance to meet him myself my brother shared a beer with him at Dragoncon; he got me his autograph on one of the stock photo’s of his role as General Hammond. This was a year I planned on going but I had torn some ligaments in my foot, Don wrote well wishes on the foot getting better, always thought that was cool. Jake remarked that he was just a regular down to earth guy; he was actually complaining about how much some of the other actors were charging for signatures, LOL. He was a great actor and an amazing artist. Can’t wait to see Stargate SG-1: Continuum when it comes out at the end of this month.
