““Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

It’s so easy to quickly go down the road of worry and “what if’s”. What if this happens tomorrow, what if that happens tomorrow, what if the diagnosis isn’t good, what if I’m laid off tomorrow … the list could go on forever.
Some might say that by thinking of tomorrow you can better plan. While I understand the thought process behind that I’m beginning to think differently. If you always say you’ll exercise tomorrow or sleep better or eat better tomorrow; it’ll never happen. Tomorrow is something that never gets here.
So yes, we can do something today for a future benefit but it does us no good to worry about it today. All we do is rob ourselves of the present moment by worrying about a potential future. Today ha enough worries, why try to lump on tomorrow’s and the next days as well?
