When you walk into a dark room and flip on the light switch, light immediately floods the room. There’s no delay, there’s no struggle for the light to push against the dark … the darkness is obliterated, it immediately yields to the light.

There a saying, all that evil needs is for good men to do nothing. It’s not that evil wins because it overcomes the light … it’s because the light was never there. The switch was never ‘flipped’ or a better analogy might be that the torch was never carried.

As children of God we are the torchbearers of the faith. We carry His light in our hearts and through our words and deeds that light is poured out into the world. This year seems very dark, let’s push back against the darkness by taking God’s light into the world.
